Wall Street’s View of the Coatings Industry:

The $18 billion/yr US coatings industry represents one of the largest end-uses for chemicals and a sizeable segment of the economy that touches many sectors of the broad economy.  It is also a popular investment opportunity and receives attention from mutual fund, private equity and hedge fund investors.  Learn how these investors view a coatings company, what they look for in performance and why coatings are interesting to them.

Trends in the Coatings Industry – Outlook for 2011:

As the world economy continues to improve, the changes caused by the recession are increasing evident.  What may have been a predictable trend in the past may no longer be as predictable, particularly with respect to market conditions and competitive dynamics.  This paper is a broad overview of the coatings industry, including market conditions and industry trends, and how the industry will look in 2011 and beyond.

Polyurethane Dispersions based on Natural Oil Polyols for High Performance Wood Coating Applications

A strong market driver exists for waterborne polyurethane binders from renewable raw materials that provide sustainable solutions for the coatings industry.   Dow's natural oil polyols (NOPs) have been used to synthesize polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) that can be formulated neat or in blends with acrylic emulsions for coating applications. This presentation will detail the performance benefits of NOP PUDs and acrylic emulsion blends for wood coating applications.
