St Joseph's University
Saint Joseph’s Science Scholarships
The PSCT has been providing funding for two undergraduate science scholarships at Saint Joseph’s University. The students gain laboratory experience as an undergraduate which is useful in obtaining their first job and also encourages some of them to continue in science. The two students and their advisors attend one PSCT meeting and the students give a short power point presentation of what they did over the summer.
Benefits to Students-
The students are chosen by the University to work with a professor on a research project. We provide partial funding. They receive a small salary and live on campus. They have an opportunity to work independently and in a group.
Benefit to Philadelphia Society of Coating Technology
Two Saint Joseph professors and their students are exposed to our group. We support a good local school where our funding is important to them and their effort to increase more student’s exposure to the laboratory and science. Saint Joseph’s acknowledges our participation with a dinner in the winter where all the students and their professors who did work over the summer show their table top displays. The sponsors are honored for their support.
